Closure: A New Adoption Documentary

Happy 4th of July! We hope you’re having a wonderful, relaxing day, enjoying BBQs, the pool, fireworks, and all sorts of outdoor adventures!

There have been a wealth of new adoption documentaries hitting the big screen recently, and many of them have focused on transracial adoption. “Closure” is the newest documentary to emerge, which follows the story of Angela, a young black woman, who finds her birth mother at age 26 after having been adopted by a white couple. The documentary covers Angela’s two-year journey towards locating and meeting her birth family, their reactions, and the reactions of her adoptive family, who grapple with wondering whether or not they are enough for their adoptive daughter. It’s gotten rave reviews and is winning awards at film festivals around the country. Here’s a look at the trailer – we can’t wait to see the whole film!
