Let’s Get Inspired
Today we’re declaring Inspiration Day on the blog! This means that we’re going to share with you some of the bits and bobs around the internet that have brightened our days this week. We all need a little bit of cheer, right? Especially when there is NO SPRING and our dreadful winter goes straight into the heat of summer. (Unless, of course, you like that sort of thing…then we’re very happy for you.)
The Court Appointed Special Advocates shared this story of a volunteer named Jamie who met a little girl named Callie who had been horrifically abused by her mother’s boyfriend. He dropped everything for the case, and his dedication is a true inspiration.
Absolutely LOVING this #placed campaign, which is encouraging people to use the word “placed” instead of “gave up.” This is something that, surprisingly, a lot of people in the world haven’t heard of or don’t necessarily understand. Rather than judging and getting angry with people who use verbiage that can be offensive to birth mothers, we should feel empowered to spread a message of inclusion. Giving people the tools to use and understand the most constructive adoption language possible.
The Global Moms Relay is sharing some incredible information about how we can get our children excited about giving back. Growing children who are excited about sharing their gifts with others is an incredible way to promote goodness in the world. And wouldn’t it be an incredible thing to have that chain begin with your child, in your own home? Think of the change we can bring!
Cancer did something powerful, and brought this woman’s family together. It’s an incredible thing when you can find a positive point to make about your cancer experience.
Babies born holding hands!!! Could anything be more adorable in the entire world?
