Here’s a look at some of the adoption links that caught our eye on the web last week!

Did you experience post-adoption depression? Not completely unlike post-partum depression, post-adoption depression can be brought on by complications during the adoption process, or even a general letdown or malaise once your adoption is complete. Here’s a great article posted on adoption.net which details symptoms of post-adoption depression, and offers helpful solutions getting to a better place.

Are you raising a brat? Parents.com offers these helpful tips for un-spoiling your kid. (Feel free to pass along! 😉

Love this article which interviews a gay father of two (through adoption) on what it’s like to be a gay dad. We are proud of, and support, equality in adoption, and it’s thrilling for us to see someone becoming a parent despite thinking at one point that might never happen. He offers some great insight for same-sex couples looking to adopt!

Please sign this position asking the Democratic Republic of Congo to end their suspension on all adoptions. This ban has put nearly 800 children and families whose adoptions were in progress into a devastating state of limbo. Tragically, 10 of those children have died since the ban started, all of preventable causes. This is such an important thing to sign and pass along — we can’t stress it enough! Here is the story of one of the mothers whose son in stuck in the DRC.

Unfortunately, not all of our adopted little ones come to us with happy backgrounds. And as they get older, the subject of where they came from is something about which they’re likely to be more inquisitive. This radio show discusses how to talk about your child’s history with them, providing helpful tips while answering the hard questions that may be on your mind.
