Dominique Moceanu’s Secret Adopted Sister

Olympic gymnast Dominique Moceanu has been a treasured star in the minds of gymnastic fans around the world since she was just a young girl. Now at 30, she recently discovered that she has a sister, Jennifer Brinker, who was placed for adoption at birth because she was born without legs. Remarkably, Jennifer also went on to become an amazing gymnast, despite her handicap. She spent years idolizing Dominique and her Olympic feats, only to discover that they were actually sisters.

Jen contacted Dominique, the two met up, and they’ve been friends and in contact ever since. Both were shocked at discovering their sisterhood — Dominique for realizing she had a sister she never knew existed, and Jen for having her childhood idol turn out to be her sister. Although it’s sad that they spent so long apart, it’s a beautiful thing when siblings can reunite and forge healthy, happy relationships as adults. We’re thrilled for them!
