I have been a manager with Panera for almost 10 years and really enjoy my job. I am a life long Kansas City Chiefs and Royals fan. I love spending time with my son, hiking, camping, and outdoor cooking. I also enjoy traveling, usually to national parks or some sort of cool outdoors attraction. I am very excited to grow our little family.
All About Alex: The thing I love most about Alex is that he treats me as his equal. We split the housework and cooking duties and work together to care for Theo, our dogs and vegetable gardens. We make big decisions by walking together and talking it out. Alex spends his leisure time woodworking (he likes to create furniture for our house), trying new recipes, playing pool, and watching sports (he is a lifelong Chiefs and Royals fan). One of his favorite parts of being a dad is playing with Theo in the backyard. Alex is so kind and respectful and that’s what makes him an amazing father.
I have been an elementary school teacher for a decade and I love working with kids. We adopted almost two years ago and I love being a mom. I am in a writing club and I love to read. I am the silly parent but I also know how to be firm from my years of teaching. I look forward to adopting one more child to complete our family.
All About Jenny: Jenny is a really good and caring person. She is able to apply these qualities to her job as a teacher, which is something that she loves to do. She cares deeply for all of her students and I have a lot of respect for her for this. This is the second year that she has won the Teacher of the Year Award. She is also a very fun person. Jenny loves to read, bake desserts, and write lists. She is a total nerd. Jenny’s favorite part of being a mom is reading books and singing songs with Theo. She is also the main photographer on our journeys. She loves to take pictures and learned how at a young age because she hated having her picture taken! Jenny is my best friend. I look forward to spending the rest of my life with her, and growing our little family.
Hello! Our names are Alex and Jenny. Thanks for taking the time to consider us! We have wanted to grow our family for a long time, and we are excited to be here now, meeting you! We live in Kansas City, MO with our son, Theo, and our three dogs. We are close to downtown, but we still see deer in our backyard. Alex is the general manager of a restaurant close to our house and Jenny teaches 5th grade in the public school system. We value education and we believe in treating others as you want to be treated. We enjoy traveling and spending time outdoors hiking with Theo. Our family loves to play games, cook together, and watch movies.
We cant wait to parent another child; we have so much love to give. We have an amazing support system of family and friends that are so excited to have a new little one to love on.
We adopted Theo and were honored to be in the hospital when he was born. We have an open adoption with his birth-mother and she is supportive of us adopting again. Theo will be three this summer and we know that he will be a good big brother. He loves to help and is very interested in the babies at church.
Alex’s family includes his parents, younger brother, and our nephew Aiden, who is 7. They all live an hour and a half away and we try to get together every couple months. We spend all of the holidays and birthdays together. We like to watch the local Kansas City sports teams play, whether it’s football, soccer, or minor league hockey! One of Alex’s family traditions is dressing up as clowns for the county fair. This is a tradition Alex’s grandfather started in the 1940’s. Alex’s parents are very excited about having a new grandchild to spoil.
Jenny’s family also can’t wait for a new grand baby. Jenny’s parents have five grandchildren already, (Malachi 18, Quinn 6, Elias 4, Della 2, Theo 2)
who call them Papa and Ama. Jenny’s three younger siblings are located in Missouri, Arkansas, and Kansas. We really enjoy any time we can spend with them, like Thanksgiving and our New Year’s gathering at our house. Jenny’s parents have an amazing deck and backyard and like to host summer gatherings. One tradition that Jenny’s family has is Friday night karaoke. She has a big, loud family who are singers and storytellers. When we visit, we always eat too much and play lots of games.
We really enjoy traveling. We usually camp and hike on our trips, especially if there are waterfalls in the area! We took Theo tent-camping in three national parks last summer and had a blast!
We also love hosting family events at our house because we like to gather everyone together and feed them. Both of us are good cooks. Alex handles the grill and Jenny bakes desserts and bread. Theo loves to help in the kitchen and we can’t wait to share our love of making good food with another child.
