New Adoption Read: “Mamalita”
We always get excited when a new adoption memoir hits the stacks. It’s a powerful experience to read the adoption stories of others, especially when their story illuminates the deep love that is inherent to the adoption process, and the lengths to which people will go to bring their new baby home.
“Mamalita,” by by Jessica O’Dwyer details the long, grueling process and she and her husband went through to adopt and bring home a baby girl from Guatemala. After facing countless obstacles, Jessica even went so far as to quit her job and move to Antigua to expedite the process. After almost losing her for good, the couple was eventually able to bring her home, and has now penned this incredible story about the love of a mother, and that unbreakable bond that will lead any parent to fight for their child.
We’re definitely looking forward to adding it to our list!
