President Obama Supports Gay Marriage

In light of North Carolina’s banning same-sex marriage and civil unions and deeming them unconstitutional, President Obama has come out in support of same-sex marriage — the first president in the history of the United States to do so. A wonderful article in the Huffington Post reports.

Not only is this an incredible move forward for our country and for the fight for equality, but it thrusts this issue directly into the political sphere (even more than before) — which is a big leap forward for the adoption world. The closer we coming to achieving marriage equality in all fifty states, the more children have the opportunity to experience a home with loving, supportive parents.
